Business Insights Analyst / Developer

Working with one of the top financial clients this role calls for a Business Insights Analyst / Developer who will develop analysis to illustrate business trends and identify areas of business opportunities. The successful candidate must apply an understanding of respective business strategies to produce relevant and substantial data analysis to support business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Produce insights and recommend business actions to align with strategy and/or solve business problems
- Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or mentorship to various business and working partners.
- Represent functional area as an analytics & insights professional and key resource; build positive and productive working partnerships.
- Act as a bridge to translate business requirements to analytics and reporting needs for a given domain
- Work closely with business partners to gain a deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives to guide the strategic direction of the respective business and/or the enterprise.
- Execute data requests accurately and within a timely manner and provide day-to-day support and delivery of analytics.
- Work independently as the senior analyst/subject matter expert and may coach and educate others.
- Considered an authority within a given area
- Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end
- Build understanding of cloud infrastructure and advanced analytics capabilities
- Act as a lead for the project team in providing guidance on both technical matters as well as the business context of the analytical problems. Work autonomously as well as acting as a lead within a specialized business management function and provide work direction to others
- Serve as an authority on a given business domain and provide business expertise to place context around analytics discovery and inform recommendations
- Ensure team collaboration with partners on business problems/issues and provide fact-based analytical advice that aligns with strategy and drives shareholder value
- Formulate relevant and significant data analysis through comprehensive data engineering and profiling tools
- Lead on the interpretation of complex business issues, generate multifaceted insights and find opportunities to help effective risk management in the business
- Build insights solutions end to end (from initial demand to results/recommendation presentation) ranging in complexity.
Desired Skill Set:
- 5+ Experience in business or financial reporting/business insights and analysis development, is knowledgeable and savvy with new technology and tools preferably within the global financial services and back-office operations
- 5 years of experience working in an Agile environment
- 5+ Hands-on experience in using business intelligence, analytics and/or data visualization tools (ex: Tableau)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL
- 2+ Experience with Python, Databricks
- Strong team player who fosters and thrives in an environment of peer development and sharing
- Strong analytically-anchored problem-solving skills – a logical and strategic thinker with strong critical reasoning skills, proactively identifies risks and issues, recommends solutions, challenges the status quo
Nice To Have:
- Working knowledge of Confluence & Jira
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure
